Greetings from Sunny San Diego...

... where it's a lovely 75 degrees F (24 C) and holding.

The convention is pretty decent, and I'm only 2 blocks away in my hotel from the convention center. Everything we've done so far has been within walking distance, and the weather has been perfect for that, too.

The night of the 4th was great, watching all the fireworks over the marina. Very impressive.

Tonight, we'll probably do a little 'tourist-ing' and head over to Old Town. I'm crossing my fingers that my travel group will go with me to the haunted Whaley House, listed as THE most haunted place in America.

Don't have much time to post more... but I could probably add a photo or two. More to come later.

I call the second photo "the best part about San Diego."

How does one gauge "hauntedness" Because I know this guy in Washington (I think) who has all sorts of Ghosts in his house, even a floating orb and a room that no one goes in. I'd say that's pretty haunted.

Make sure to bring your proton pack just incase.

There's a place in Old Town that serves THE BEST margaritas! I don't know what it's called, just that it's in the middle of this hacienda-looking shopping complex. And it's gooooooooooooood. Enjoy the sun!

You also need to go to Mexico to get some of those cheap prescription drugs the oldies always talk about.

Good luck at the Whaley house - don't twist your ankle tripping over ghosts. Hah!

Seriously - don't trip.

goldennib: I have lots of photos of the Whaley House from the outside, but we didn't even go in. There were so many tourists. Why would a ghost come out with all that noise? ;-)

wire: Mmm... lobster. Haven't had any yet, but did have some scrumptious gulf shrimp!

margus: I have no idea. But I'd like to visit your friend's house! That sounds cool. I left my proton pack in the hotel, so I didn't go in the Whaley House. :-(

gabrielle: If it was the Old Town Mexican Cafe, I did have them! We had the Ultimate Margaritas with Cuervo 1800. Yum-MY!

jurgen: Thanks! I wish I could take more pictures, but I do actually have to attend a few sessions while I'm here. Otherwise, I'd be outside with the camera the entire time.

alyssa: we rode the trolley last night, and there were a couple of guys down by the Santa Fe Depot who could probably have sold me some "prescriptions." Eeeek!

paisley: the convention isn't really too bad. They have some really good sessions, and have definitely provided enough fun time for us, too.

-r-: I definitely am having a good time... thanks! I'm having a hard time living up to being a Grumpy Frump with this big smile that won't leave my face! If the Farm Boy would have been able to join me, I'd be in sheer heaven.

Reads like a fun time so far - that's good! Enjoy it to the max and take lots of pictures, for your "lame" photo blog! Have fun!

I'm jealous. I'm spending my weekend on a crowded 2 foot square of a Long Island beach....surrounded by too many kids from New Jersey with way too much hair grease keeping their follicles perfectly pointed, even when doused with ocean water.

Looks pretty! Wish I could post photos on my holiday. I have no way to get them from my camera to my blog... :(
