Random Musings- last day of April Edition

1. While driving home from work, I passed a kid dressed in a sombrero and poncho, dancing along the street. Teenage boy. DANCING. Like there was no tomorrow. And waving a sign about 99 cent tacos. Apparently, working at Taco Johns makes you really happy. Or really insane.

2. How much does sign waving in front of stores/restaurants actually work anyway? Anyone know this answer??

3. I really, really need to learn not to procrastinate. This is going to be one hellacious weekend. Work. Plus more work. Plus studying for a final. Plus writing a 5-6 page case study. All this weekend. Please send me good juju.

That's all for now. Thanks for being you. ;-)

Update: I almost forgot. It's spring. Finally, it's looking like spring too. Here's a couple of shots of the tree in front of my house that is FINALLY blooming!

I was literally reading your blog as you updated this. One minute i'm reading A Quick & Easy Five Point Meme... the next i'm looking at Random Musings. Weird.

I really strongly relate to the procrastination thing. I haven't got a solution but i am feeling your pain :)

Every time I'm out driving around on Saturdays, I see people standing at intersections holding giant signs talking about some nearby sale. I have never understood this marketing phenomenon. Glad to hear it's not just in my neck of the woods.

Also, consider good juju sent. :-)

wire: I'm just glad someone's reading. :-) Check back next week to see if I paid the price for the procrastination. Augh.

stefanie: isn't that just WEIRD? Apparently, it does work, because it happens all over the place. And thanks for the good juju!

Yay for Spring! Actually wore flip flops on Sunday, but had to wear a coat and socks the last three days.

But yay for Spring!

There was a furniture store going out of business by my old apartment and I guess they pay random people cash to hold signs up. Some of the characters were pretty rough looking!!

stinkypaw: that's about how it goes here. 3 days warm, then a freezing cold day, then a rainy day. Then more warm. My room is full of clothes that I don't know if I should store or not. Gah.

jen: Oooh... random people? That would be interesting. I guess that might be the random act of kindness for the day?

I have never stopped to frequent an establishment based on the fact that someone is standing outside said establishment in a silly costume, exhorting me to buy "hot and fresh now" pizza or have my taxes done. I really can't imagine who would. I guess it must work on somebody, though, or they wouldn't keep doing it. (Though, really, TAXES? I'm entrusting my taxes to someone solely because a bored-looking teenager is outside dressed as the statue of liberty? I don't think so.)

liz: you crack me up. One of the Jiffy Lube stores here always has someone trying to "lure" people off the road to their business. I think it makes them look desperate. haha
