Please, Mom... just two hours more...

Apparently, one of my dogs is not a morning 'dog,' either (see my previous post). Every morning when we get up to go to work, we get the dogs up to go outside. Our chihuahua jumps out of bed and runs outside. He's just as happy to go back to bed, but we have NO trouble getting him up in the morning.

Our other dog, a rat terrier/min pin mix ... not so much. He sleeps in a kennel at night, and we literally have to drag him out of it in the morning. If you don't get the door closed immediately, he sneaks right back in. When we finally get him out of the kennel, he slowly moseys outside, does his business, then scampers right back in the house to return to his doggie bed in the kennel. It's hilarious. This picture is him in his little bed, looking at me, pleading with me to let him sleep just a little bit more.

On weekends, this dog will sleep in until 10am... I'm not exaggerating. He's such a baby!

That's my kind of dog.

My pups have been waking up at 7:30 every Saturday and Sunday for the last five weeks. They want to play. I just want to sleeeeeeep.

Our chihuahua is "finally" adjusting to "our" schedule! When we got her she was an early riser (on my mom's (read "old folks") schedule), and we "trained" her to go to bed later and to get up later. This morning I had to wake her up and take her out... at 9:30am, and she's now back in her bed!

So cute! My mom's dog keeps waking her up at 5 am to go potty. The other night she woker her up at 2! Unfortunately, they can't get a doggie door because of the coyotes where they live so they have to take her out. I think my mom is getting pretty grumpy. :)

Your dog is my kinda dog!!! :)

He is adorable! We had to train our puglies (who sleep in a kennel together) to sleep in. Lots of mornings AnnieBelle is still snoring (LOUDLY) when I go to let them out. When they come back in, they snuggle up on their Daddy's lap.

sparkling cipher: I don't think I could handle 7:30 doggie yips on Saturday mornings. But then again, I wouldn't want to wake up to doggie presents on the carpet either. ;-)

stinkypaw: sounds like she's adjust well! And 9:30? what a dream!! Thanks... I'll Paco know you think he's purty. :-)

paisley: I know a lot of people in AZ and CA who have purchased kennels that look like big, fenced-in dog runs, so that they can let their dogs out without coyote fears. If that were the case where I live, I probably would do the same thing.

mimaw: this dog snores loudly, too!

A dog after mine own heart.

That's one of the reasons we don't have a dog; I don't want to get up on weekends!

greg: that he is. :-)

goldennib: what? would you like to have him? I'd be glad to ship him off to you! Just kidding. My youngest daughter (aka the dog's GIRL) would kill me.

-r-: the dogs are actually worse than my kids when it comes to sleep habits.

cindra jo: Thanks! Hope you come back lots and lots!

Sounds like my 17-year-old boy... except the business outside part. He slept until THREE PM on saturday. Ugh.
