Really? You're Going to Wear THAT?

Pet Peeve of the Week:

Mommies who wear suggestive clothing while walking their kids to school, shopping with their kids, etc.

If you're over 30 and walking your child into his or her school, the word "JUICY" should not be printed across your chest or derriere.

Along those same lines, your child's schoolmates have no need to see your cleavage. Or your butt hanging out of those Daisy Dukes. You're a mom. Remember that.

You don't have to wear the stereotypical "mom jeans" with a waistline that reaches your ribcage. I'm not saying you need to wear a burkha, either. Just please look in the mirror... if you think you look hot*, think about changing your clothes. Save the hot clothes for the weekends with your significant other. Cover up for your kids and their friends.

That's all. Thank you for listening.

*Yes, yes. I know. Some women are lucky enough to look hot, even if they're wearing a pair of farmer's overalls. That's not what I mean. It's the moms who try to look 'sexy' when they're out with their kids that are bugging me this week. I'm a mom. I want to look good, too... I'm just not out to seduce my kids' friends or their teachers.

When I was in elementary school, there was this lady who, even having having 3 children, looked quite nice. My goodness! It was ridiculous! She did NOT need to try to fit into her daughter's clothing!

It goes along with the while mom trying to be your best friend thing. They want to be hip and cool and not admit that (gasp!) they're getting older!

So please. If you have children, don't try to wear your three year old's shirt. We may be staring, but that's not necessarily a good thing.

I agree 100%. That also goes for people who WORK with children. I posted recently about a gal at the children's shoe store showing way too much cleavage. There was a girl at daycare a couple years ago who wore low rise jeans, showing her crack everytime she squatted down.

Part of me wants to say all of this to the woman who teaches the kickboxing class at my gym. The rest of me is just jealous as hell that she looks far better than I ever have or will, and she's had three kids. Sigh.

I don't think ANYONE should be walking around with the word "Juicy" on their butts. I must be old and crotchety, but I just don't get that.

I don't know why some women think it's great to walk around anywhere looking "juicy." And I think that men walking around showing too much skin is not good either.

I've seen a few that bug the crap out of me in Vegas, they dress "hot" with Daisy Duke's "juicy" shorts, a Coyote Ugly thank top and a tall drink in one one and a kid on the other side. Nice! reall nice!
