Frustration...

I don't have a lot of time to do this today. Going to a conference, so I'll be away from blogland for most of the day (withdrawals will commence around 9am CST, I'm sure).

My frustration level is about terror level orange right now. No, maybe it's red. I don't know. All I know is this totally sucks.

I have been SOOOO good about eating well. I don't consume more than 1200 calories a day (yes, even on days when I go to Chipotle). I haven't eaten a doughnut in over a year, I think. I stay away from horribly fattening things... and when I DO indulge, I usually share a dessert with my husband. That funnel cake I blogged about a while back (not enough time to find the link)... haven't had one since.

I'm working out intensely 2 days a week with a physical therapist for an hour and 15 minutes, and doing home exercises every other day of the week. Because of back problems, I'm not allowed to work out like I used to... and that includes walking on a treadmill... for now. I'm getting better, so that's just temporary. But the home exercises are Pilates and other similar types, so they're effective. Heart rate is up during exercise time, and muscles are getting work.

So, I'm starting to feel better anyway. But have I lost any weight. Nooooooooooooooooooooo... I'VE GAINED TWO LBS.

This TOTALLY sucks.

My husband says, "it's muscle weight." Whatever. You can tell me that all you want, but when my freaking clothes don't fit, IT'S A PROBLEM. Plain and simple.

So, now I'm depressed... and angry. Grrr!

That totaly sucks! I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a month and a half, so I'm desperately trying to slim down for it! Why does it have to be so hard...

Have you had your thyroid checked?

I used to use fitday.com - it's free and awesome. Also, go to www.dwlz.com to find out calories/points for restaurants.

Did you know a Chipotle veggie burrito is YOUR ENTIRE DAYS WORTH OF CALORIES?

Yes, I cried too.

Just pretend you gained two pounds because you have to poop. ;)

I always ate well - 1200 calories, worked out. Nothin'. Nothing!! I'm afraid for after the baby.

That is so disheartening to see that you've gained a few after working your butt off. Water weight maybe? I find my weight fluctuates as much as 7 pounds from day to day...

Hey, does farmboy like how those extra two pounds are distributed? Maybe it's OK!

nikki: yeah, water weight that's hung around for over a year? bleh. Drink more? As in water, or alcohol? I already drink water all day long, so bring on the Skyy Berry vodka! ;-)

ludi: I'm convinced women weren't meant to be thin. If I had been born in the late 16th century, I might actually be TOO thin. They liked their women rubenesque!

paisley: yep. Thyroid is fine. And I know the calorie count in the veg. burrito at Chipotle... that's why I usually eat only half. Plus, I don't do the guac... just a teensy bit of sour cream and cheese. We figured my half burritos were only about 400 cals.

K- Wow! I've gone up and down 5lbs between days, but I thought that was pretty extreme. 7? Eeeesh.

Thanks everyone... I'm actually feeling better (wearing elastic waist band skirt-woot!) now. I just hate the "I can't fit into most of my clothes" routine all the time.

Hey, at least nobody walked up to you at a Starbucks and said, "I don't know if you'd be interested in this or not" and walked away. The card was for Rubenesque nude modeling.

Um...thanks.

I promptly threw away my muffin.

Oh, well. At least she thought I was pretty. I still have the card. I think that was 5 years ago.

waah.

Rev: Farm Boy is 6'4" (oops... how do we do that in Aussie metric terms? He's almost 2 meters tall). He doesn't even weigh 200 lbs (90kg)! And he complains that he's gained weight. blah.

paisley: I've seen your picture. You are NOT rubenesque!

All I can say is I know how you feel. I remember reading something ex-supermodel Christie Brinkley said about being 35 - that compared to herself at 20, she had to work out twice as hard for half the results. That pretty much sums it up for me. I put on a couple of pounds despite working my ass off after that age... and then I got fed up at 39 and quit working out... and I've gained another 5 lbs in the last two years. ARGH.

(Everyone is blogging about weight today... Maybe March 30th is just "I feel fat!" day, and we'll all feel better tomorrow!)

tammara: as long as I wake up 10 lbs lighter, I'll feel better tomorrow. ;-)

No! Just water, probably. I was 3 lbs. more just last week, and I KNOW I didn't lose that much.

I have back problems, too and I just gained 3 lbs. I'm none too happy. It seems so small, but when you're trying to keep the weight off for health reasons it's infuriating to gain.

I can't believe you're sticking to 1200 calories. I'd eat my hand if I were only consuming that much. Although, I do drink a lot of water to trick myself about being hungry...
