I was a teacher for six years. I taught 7-12 graders (ages 12-19). NEVER was I once even remotely attracted to any of my students. They were my STUDENTS. Did I stress that enough? They were my STUDENTS!!! When I started teaching, I was only 23. For those of you struggling with the math, that means I was only 4 years older than some of the kids I taught. Still... not for one second, did I ever think of dating one of my students. As far as I was concerned, they were all just a bunch of kids. I was the adult. That's all there was.
So... my "WHY" is .... why are so many teachers having sex with

I saw that multiple births story the other day, and...wow. Did they think that no one would eventually ask to, I don't know, SEE the babies?

I agree with Red. Mental stability is what keeps a person from even going there in hhis/her own HEAD - let alone acting on it.
I knew a guy in college who'd had sex with a 30-yr-old teacher when he was 15. I remember thinking at the time (I think I was 23 or so) that he must have been a pretty cute 15 year old (because he was one HOT 22-yr-old)... but that I wasn't attracted to cute 15 year olds because they were CHILDREN.
I don't get it at all.

Ewan shoudl definitely sing more. He has a voice that melts me. Quite literally, my legs dont' work when he sings. Sigh...
Having been a young teacher myself (I was 22 in my first year) I can't understand the teacher/student attraction. All of my kids were just that, kids. I think it's sick and wrong when teachers take advantage of their power imbalance and embark on a relationship/sex with their kids. That is one thing that makes me soooo mad!!! There was an ex-teacher around who got together with one of my year 10 students, and I was sooooooo mad about it! How dare she do that to him!!! He was 16! What does he know?! She was 26 and an ex-teacher. She should have known better. ARGH!!! That poor boy was totally screwed up by girls. He has issues himself, but she was supposed to be the adult, he couldn't make those decisions for himself at that age. Can you tell this is something I am passionate about?!
ludi: me, too... the melting when Ewan McGregor sings part. I made my husband watch Moulin Rouge with me, and he actually liked it. Was very impressed with ObiWan's singing.
Yes, you are passionate and should be about that. People who take advantage of children should be shot. No questions asked.

I can't believe how many people take advantage of others who are donating money out of the goodness of their hearts. That's why, I think anyway, that I only donate to established charities.
