This is not a political blog. You are all free to follow the left or the right... I don't care. I don't mix friends and politics.
BUT... this guy? I'm sick. My stomach literally hurts after reading his webpage. Not because he professes to be a vampyre (yeah, that's not the scary part). I just finished reading Not In Kansas Anymore, by Christine Wicker and learned a few things about them. I don't care if someone thinks he is a vampyre/vampire... or any other-kin (their term that I just learned). The whole Satan follower issue? He's free to worship whoever/whatever he wants in our country. That STILL isn't the scary part.
Just read this guy's campaign site.
I found this while doing some follow-up reading online of Wicker's book. I'm scared shitless. People of Minnesota, good luck.

that's seriously disturbing, i hope you're right margus... i agree with peebody
Seriously, MPB? His whole turn to the "Dark Side" with the anger... going through three women who TURNED on HIM? Sounds like the guy needs mental help and anger management.
Margus, I hope you're right.
Penguin, I was so disturbed last night after reading (so why couldn't I stop) that my stomach hurt for the rest of the night.
Scary on so many levels. The "Impaler/Impalement" stuff, the JFK reference, running for Prez (even though it seems like every loon runs for Prez at some point...), and his closing - "Nel Sangue"? I googled this, but every page I got was in Latin and I don't speak Latin, but I know enough to know that this dude's version of "Cheers," or "Best Regards" has something to do with blood.
Wow.
Do you think this is real? Grr. I'm definitely of the opinion that you can think what you want and for the separation of church and state, but this guy is a little fucked up and extreme. Well. Let's take solace in the fact that considering the fact he had to use Yahoo (free) Sitebuilder to make his page, he doesn't have a lot of money to throw around for a political campaign.
Oy- that's exactly what I thought. His closing is actually Italian (I, too, thought Latin at first). It literally means "in the blood." So, basically, he's saying, "Yours In Blood." Personally, I think he should just stick to Sincerely. WAY less creepy.
Yeah, jurgen... unfortunately, it's backed up in a few Minn. newspapers that state his bid for candidacy. And in addition to his lame-ass Yahoo site, the dude cannot SPELL. I know that doesn't necessary disqualify him for gubernatorial duties, but come on. Spell check or something!
This has to be a joke or something...this guy is whacked! Especially if he really thinks he has any sort of chance.
as for the spelling, maybe he just feels like it is his right to spell any way he wants and if you challenge him - he will impale you!
sorry - lame joke, but this guy ....i have no words...
I'm not fine with practically everything about this guy. The only thing he seems to have going for him is a good work ethic, but the work he wants to do is so not ok with me. It seems like he is a misguided self righteous moron who wants to impose himself and his warped sense of right and wrong (and justice) on the universe. It really scares me that there are people like him in the world, and that some people will see this man as a hero!
I agree, MPB. I think it was just all his talk about darkness and anger that really bothered me. If you read about his past, his relationships, his desire to run for president... it just smacks of "wacko."
Margus--Unfortunately, not only did it make the Fox 9 news (and probably every other station, too), but it even made SNL's Weekend Update last week. I live in Minneapolis, too, and I was hanging out with some friends when we saw a local news report about this guy. We all said, "Oh great. Another thing to make the rest of the country think we're insane here." Then an hour later we were watching it on SNL.
I agree with Peebody that everyone is entitled to his or her beliefs, but I also agree this guy is a nutjob. This isn't like Jesse; I really don't think we have to worry about him getting too far.
Stefanie's right. Ventura might have been a little loony, but he's a churchmouse compared to this guy. I can't see a majority vote going his way, unless every vampyre in the US moves to Minnesota in the near future.
